A man and a woman are still in custody being questioned by officers following an incident in which a man sustained serious injuries.

Police were called to Tunbridge Wells railway station in Vale Road at around 5.30pm on Thursday 19 July 2012 following a report that a man had been seriously injured.

The victim, a 53 year old man from Tunbridge Wells, was flown by air ambulance to a London hospital where he was treated for a stab wound. He is now in a stable condition which is no longer believed to be life threatening.

The man in custody is a 23 year old from East Grinstead, and the woman is 30, from Southborough. Both were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers from Kent Police are still at a cordoned area on the common in Vale Road, Tunbridge Wells, at the junction of London Road and Torrington Road.

The man in custody was arrested in Tunbridge Wells at 11.25pm yesterday evening. The woman was arrested at just before 6pm.
